Music therapy is a discipline in which Certified Music Therapists (MTAs) use music purposefully within therapeutic relationships to support development, health, and well-being. Music therapists use music safely and ethically to address human needs within cognitive, communicative, emotional, musical, physical, social, and spiritual domains.

How Does it Work?
Music Therapists are trained to use a variety of musical interventions to address the specific goals and abilities of each client. It is not necessary for clients to have any previous music experience!
Therapeutic Interventions may include:
- instrument play
- listening to music
- guided, and unguided, movement
- song-writing
- lyric discussion
- drawing to music
- relaxation to music
- adapted music lessons
